Sunday I cut Elliot's hair...the FIRST time I have ever cut hair!! CRAZY!!! It turned out shorter then I thought...but no to bad for the first time!!!

Las Vegas

So, Elliot and I are going to Las Vegas for my birthday because 1 I have never really been there. Like I have driven through and stopped to eat but I have never experienced the “real” Vegas. And 2 because we got a free trip there for listening to a time share thing.

When we first got this “free” trip they said that they will fly us out there and we can stay 3 days 2 nights, we get $50 for dinner one night and they made it sound all wonderful and all we had to pay was $95 for the taxes. WELL….then I got a phone call a few weeks later informing me that we would not be saying on the strip, that we would be saying in a run down motel, we would fly in on a red eye flight and fly out EARLY in the morning. (Which turned our 3 day 2 night in to a 1 day 2 night) AND we would have to find our own transportation to and from the airport and to and from the strip. BUT…the lady I was talking to had a GREAT deal. She would give us $100 to gamble with, two free tickets to a magic show, a two for one to another show, a two for one for dinner and we would stay on the strip…and we would only have to pay $230 more. So our free trip was going to cost us $325. So I nicely told the lady we would not be interested in this at this time (remember we are a poor newlywed couple) and is there anyway we could get the $95 back. To this she replied (not wanting to lose the deal) that she could send $50 back and give us all these perks if we found our own way down. After talking to Elliot I told that sounds good to us.

Because of all this Elliot has been looking around to find the cheapest way to Vegas. We really don’t want to drive my car because I am leasing it (YES I know the WORST decision I have made in my WHOLE life) so we don’t want to put all the extra miles on it (considering I am only allowed to put 36,000 miles on it until June 2010, and right now as I type this there are 44,200 miles on it OOPS!!!!). We found on SouthWest that you could get tickets for $45 one way, not bad, we could fly to Vegas and back for $238 total. But Elliot thought he could find a better deal. We talked about renting a car (that gets better gas mileage then mine) to drive down, then fly back. Because they give you a full tank of gas which would get us there and gas in Vegas is MUCH cheaper so we would fill it up when we got there turn it in and it wouldn’t be much money. PROBLEM!!!! Elliot and I are both under 25 so to do this would cost us $300 PLUS gas.

(For the BETTER part) While at work yesterday I was booking a flight for my boss (yes one of the MANY things I do for him because he is a “Vice President” so he can’t do it for himself. (We call that job security), I thought….”I have heard that Jet Blue has deals” so I checked how much it would be for us to fly to Vegas with them. It was an AMAZING $29 a person a way. Right that instant I text Elliot and told him what I found. I was so excited that is almost free!! So, I was telling the people I work with and I got on to show them (about 30 min later) and the price went up to $49, which isn’t bad…but its NOT $29. I was totally bummed and kicking my self for not jumping on it when it was $29. Well…about ten minutes later I thought…I must have done something wrong…there is NO way the price would have gone up $20 in 30 minutes. So I looked again and GUESS WHAT!??!?!?! (I must have done something wrong because) I FOUND THEM AGAIN FOR $29 so I CALLED Elliot knowing he wasn’t going to answer because he can’t answer his phone at work. BUT he did answer and I told him and he gave me his credit card number so I bought the tickets and we are FLYING to Vegas!!! I'm SO FREAKEN EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!

So its been a day or two since I last updated my blog with something that was going on in my life. So I decided to catch up…Let see my last ‘real’ post was September 22 which was last Monday.
We went to Seussical, I LOVED it!! Poor Elliot doesn’t like musicals but he is such a GREAT husband he sat through the WHOLE thing with out complaining even ONCE! Boy do I love him.
Ceder City was AWESOME! We had a blast!! We had a HUGE hotel room!!! We got then and went to The Pizza Factory for dinner. It was SO yummy! Then went out to find a Wal-Mart (with the top down (YAY!!!!))because McKenna forgot to pack her swimming suit and underwear. So after we got those we went back to the hotel and went swimming. Then we went back to our room showed and played games and watched Airplane OH MY GOSH!!! That is a FUNNY movie!!! The next morning while we got ready we watched Overboard…also a funny movie! We checked out…went to Chili’s for lunch then off to the play.
Moonlight and Magnolias was an AWESOME play! So funny….it is about 2 guys (Ben Hecht and Victor Fleming) that aren’t allowed to leave David O. Selznick’s office until they write the script for the movie Gone With the Wind. They are there for 5 days living on peanuts and bananas. It makes you exhausted just watching them. FUN FUN FUN!!! After the play we were exhausted so we headed home.
Sunday we went to Elliot’s kind of ex’s mission fairwell. It was interesting to meet her (Angie). She is the kind of girl you want to hate (because your husband use to like her) but you can’t because she is so nice and great…there is nothing to hate. Grrr…. LoL!!! After we went over to Elliot’s moms house for dinner and we started watching Gone With the Wind until I got tired and fell asleep on Elliot’s lap, so we decided to go home. That’s about what’s going on….ohhhhhhh and you know how I said a few weeks ago Elliot got in a wreck…well the PT Cruiser is in the shop so we are driving a 2009 Kia Sorento!!! I love it…but I kinda miss my car because it is smaller and I'm not as scared about putting a dent in it or anything.
So something funny….

I went and picked up my birth control (the nuva ring) the other day…and I decided to read the information they give you with it on the way home (don’t worry Elliot was driving). Im sorry....Sometimes I just need to complain

So, you all get to hear me rant and rave again…The receptionist (who we are going to call Roxanne) didn’t come in to work today. I guess she called in sick. So guess who gets to sit up front until the temp receptionist comes in? That’s right ME!!!! AHHHHH…..this drives me crazy! She was late last Tuesday which meant that I had to sit at the front desk for an hour till she decided to come to work then for another thirty minuets so she could take a lunch. When I was the receptionist 1 I was NEVER late (well I think I came in like 5 min late a time or two) and I NEVER called in sick. People needed me at work…so I was there. Is that REALLY that hard of a concept?? AND when I was sitting up here last week I was informed that when anyone asks Roxanne to scan something for them she has a limit of 4 pages that she will scan. I'M SORRY YOU CAN’T DO THAT!!!! Scanning is part of the job description. She is a slacker!!! SHE DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!!!!!!!
Also, when I was up here and wanted to take a lunch there was a girl we will call Denise would sit at the receptionist desk and take calls for me for an hour so I could get a lunch. Well, she was pregnant so some days she was sick and couldn’t come in. So what I would do is wait till 1 (and sometimes 2 or 3) till people were back from their lunch then I would FORWARD the calls to them so I could take a lunch. WELL, Denise had her baby so she hasn’t been here for a while. But Roxanne still wants her noon lunch…so the departments have to take turns to cover her lunch witch is annoying but I got over it TILL I was informed that I had to sit at the front desk. She couldn’t just transfer the calls like I did. NO someone has to be sitting up at the front desk!! Last week was my departments turn to do her lunches…so I only got to take a lunch twice last week…now does that sound fair. And the reason for this is I HAVE WORK I have to get done before the end of the day. If I don’t get it done then I am swamped for the next day and Rob (my boss) gets mad.
So, again today I’m sitting at the front desk on my busiest day waiting for the temp to come in so I get do MY work! ANNOYING!!!!! They really just need to get rid of Roxanne and hire the temp that ALWAYS comes in to cover for her. AND they need to stop assuming that I have nothing to do so it is totally fine for me to sit at the front desk. I have gotten NOTHING done today that needs to be done. All I have done in the last hour is checked my facebook, my myspace and my blog. When really I should be doing Sales Data reports!!! AND because I haven’t been at my desk I haven’t had breakfast!!!
But on the better side. We are taking my car in today to get fixed and we get a rental car!!! I'm SUPER EXCITED!!!!! This means I cleaned out my car this morning which is SUPER nice…so it won’t be so cluttered when we get it back. YAY!!! I love a clean car! ALSO…my mother in-law quit her job so to celebrate we are going to Cedar City for the Shakespearean festival. The best part about it is its just us GIRLS!!! A totally girls weekend (well two days). We are going down Friday at like 3 and coming back late Saturday night. We are going to see Moonlight and Magnolias and play. Its going to be so much fun. Then Sunday Elliot and I are going to Sandy to his friends’ mission farewell, which I’m excited for because I get to meet the girl that I guess you could say was my competition. He liked her when we first exchanged numbers. So, because I'm lame like that I'm excited to meet her.
Now I just have to get through the next 4 days and then its party time!! YAY!!!! AND OH YEAH I ALMOST FORGOT!!!!! At the Scera they are doing the play Seussical: The Musical, and because I have an AMAZING husband (and a father in-law that works at the Scera) I get to go see it tonight!!! I'm SO FREAKEN EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I’m sitting here at the front desk at work waiting for the receptionist to come back so I can go to lunch thinking what to do, what to do. So I decided to add to my blog because I haven’t for a while….sorry guys….sometimes I’m a slacker. (WARNING: I have a feeling this is going to be the most random and scattered blog you will EVER read)

Not much new is going on. We moved to Orem about a month ago…(sorry old news). I love it…it is nice to have a place of our own. We live in a four-plex we like our up-stairs neighbors. They are a newly wed couple with a baby. We have not met the other neighbors that are up-stairs, all we know about them is that it is a family and I totally just forgot where they were from (sorry). Then the neighbor that lives on the bottom next to us Elliot doesn’t like at all. He is in his mid 20’s not married but we have heard he is engaged. But when we were moving in he wasn’t very nice to Alec and Elliot so we really have not taken the time to get to know him. But back to our apartment. It has two bedrooms and a gas fire place (I'm really excited about that). I will try to get pictures up soon!

So, about a month ago I thought I was prego…and I was scared but excited. Well…I'm NOT but because of that little scare I'm super baby hungry now!!! (Don’t tell Elliot but) Earlier today I had nothing to do at work…so I was looking at baby things. They have the COOLEST things for babies. Looking made me even more baby hungry. I told my mom this and she told me to be careful. I know I shouldn’t have a baby now…I need to be married a little longer…and we want to go through the temple before we have kids. So I have to wait till at least June. But unless I get over this baby bug…I will be having a baby nine to ten months after June.

And my mind has gone TOTALLY blank…so I'm going to end here….I just hope the receptionist gets back SOON I'm HUNGRY and want FOOD!!!!!!!!

Go to work? I'm on the computer ALL day at work so I do that a lot.

Sadly I have seen them both, I saw American Pie with Toni and Superbad with Danny (I MISS HIM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!) But I really don’t like either of them, I thought they were both funny at the time…but I am a different person then I was when I saw them and really have no desire to ever see them again.

twenty-two: What's your biggest fear?

It use to be never getting married or marrying the wrong person. But I'm not married….and I know with everything in me I married the right person. I am scared of bears, crocodiles, alligators, and sharks (anything that is bigger then me that could kill me) but my biggest fears are Elliot dying, not being able to have kids, not raising my kids right, getting prego before we go though the temple and miscarrying, things like that.

twenty-five: What did you do last night?

Well…it was Elliot’s birthday (PAUSE!!!!! Potty break…..OKAY thanks….Im back now!) so Connor took us (Elliot and Me) out to eat. WAIT….back up…First after work, we went and got an estimate on my car then we went home put a load of laundry in and watch scrubs and had some personal time (as my mother in-law calls it). THEN we met Connor at Golden Corral (that’s where Elliot wanted to eat for his birthday CRAZY!!!!). After we ate we went over to the Fosters (Elliot’s moms house) and opened presents (Scrubs season 1 and Star Wars episode 1) we sat and talked for a bit then Connor and the Brazilin girl (I don’t remember her name but I REALLY like her…she reminds me of my cousin Michelle) came over and Elliot, Me, McKenna, Tracie, Connor and the Brazilin girl watched Scrubs. In the middle of the first episode McKenna went up stairs to shower (and never came back….the poop went to bed with out even telling us good night). After the second episode Connor took the Brazilin girl home. Then Callie came over and watched an episode with us. Then we decided it was time to go home. We went home and put the laundry that was in the washer in the dryer and put another load in. Then I laid down and fell asleep while Elliot watched Star Wars Episode 1 in our room.

I don’t totally remember, maybe I don’t want to get up. Elliot got up and got in the shower and I remember thinking that as soon as he got out I would get up and get in. Then he got out and came and told me he was out. And I think I asked him if he was already out…but I'm not 100% sure on that.

twenty-seven: Speak any other languages?

I use to know Sign Language but I think I am losing it. L I think Elliot wants me to learn portages but I don’t know ANYTHING.

twenty-eight: Whats your favorite smell?

I LOVE (and have for 6 years) the smell of Old Spice Elliot wore it in high school and I have NEVER found a smell I like better.

At times…but usually I get cold.

I think I have…but next time it rains I think I'm going to grab Elliot and make him come kiss me in the rain. (Even though he says I kiss him too much!!! But he is just so much fun to kiss!!!)

Have you ever just sat with a paper and pen and wrote down all your thoughts as they come? It is so much fun…I had to do it once in line 9^th grade in English…at first I thought it was LAME but I really really liked it!!! It is…almost refreshing.

My Car

As I told you a a post before my car got wrecked (it was just over a week ago now). Well....We went to go get an estimate so we could make the insurance company fix it.
First we went to our insurance company and they estimated it at $2,343.08
Then we went to the guy that hit us insurance company...well the people who would fix it for them. (Side note....my dads friend works for the company that would fix it so he was the one that did the estimate for us YAY!!) They said it would be $4,835.72 to fix it!!!!
We talked to the guy that would fix it (my dad's friend). He told us the side fender (as shown in the picture below) is over $2,000 just for the fender not for labor or paint or anything HOLY COW!!!! and he said the reason it is so much more is because they would replace it with a new piece where our insurance would get us a refurbished one. THANK GOODNESS FOR INSURANCE!!! Who will pay for ALL of this!!!!!!

We went to WY last weekend...and WOW it was a lot more fun then I expected (Don't tell Elliot I said that!) First things first….I forgot to charge my camera battery so I only have a few pictures and they were taken with my phone so they are not amazing quality but they are better then nothing!!!

We got there at like ten. When we pulled up the lights were on in the house which surprised me because I was expecting people to be asleep or watching a movie like we do in Oakley. But WOW I was way off!! We walked in and Bob (Papa) greeted us. Then we went up stairs and Grany, Michelle, Elliot’s other aunt (I forgot her name), and a few cousins were all there talking and laughing. We stayed up till midnight talking and laughing. It was so much fun. The next morning we woke up and HOLY COW!!!! It is pretty there…I had no clue! My Dad was right…..Starvally was the part WY stole from Idaho =)

Anyway….we had biscuits and gravy for breakfast (I don’t like sausage but I ate it anyway…and it was pretty good).

Then Elliot and I went 4-wheeling. I was a little scared at first because I haven’t driven a 4-wheeler for YEARS. Also last time I did I hit the side of the dirt wrong and tipped it up on its back wheels…and almost killed Ronda and Haley (okay so didn’t almost kill…but it did scare us!!) But once I got on I remember everything and it was SO much fun!!! We spent almost ALL day on them.

For dinner we went to the FAMIOUS cheese factory…well…it has a new owner and all I will say is don’t waste your money or the fat it will give you!

Sunday we went and visited the Jenkins side. We went to Grandpa Jenkins’ and all of Elliot’s aunts and uncles on that side were there. Grandpa Jenkins’ house is small so when his kids come to visit him they bring their camper trailers. We were all out in one trailer (all nine of us) when the wind started to blow. It was blowing HARD, the trailer was shaking and moving but we just kept talking. When we got out of the trailer to go see the new elementary (Elliot’s uncle Chad is the principal there) we went to the cars and saw that a HUGE branch of the pine tree fell. (Sorry I didn’t have my phone so I couldn’t take any pictures). But if it would have fallen a foot more to the right it would have landed on Uncle Chad’s car, if it would have fallen to the left it would have crushed the garage or if it would have fallen the other way it would have it the house! It was CRAZY that it fell the way it did to do NO damage. WOW!!!

We went and saw the elementary school…it was an elementary school nothing to exciting. Then headed back to grandpas, and the men cut the branch that fell so they could move it out of the way of grandpa’s car. While they men were doing that us girls stayed in side (it was COLD and rainy) and made popcorn with marshmallow on it. It sounds interesting…but it was GOOD!!! We took 3 bags of microwave popcorn and popped it. Then melted a bag of mini marshmallows and a stick of butter (as you would if you were making rice crispy treats) and then dumped it all together in a big bowl. As if butter popcorn isn’t fatting enough…but it was delicious.

By this point it was almost 9 and Elliot and I hadn’t had dinner so we went back to Granny’s and Bob’s. We made sandwiches and watched Law & Order: SVU till I fell asleep (early). Then we both went to bed.

Monday we got up cleaned up and just relaxed until we decided to leave. On our way home we stopped by Grandma Linberg’s (Elliots great grandma). I had never met her…so that was nice. Then we drove home.

When we got home we decided we didn’t want to sit at home (it was like seven so it wasn’t really late). We headed over to movies 8 to see a move but EVERYTHING was sold out till 9 and that’s just to late for me to go to a movie on a work night. So we went to nickelcade, it was LOTS of fun!

So, I get all caught up in reading other peoples blogs I for get to blog my self…SORRY!!!
Lets see….since my last blog…
We moved to a place in Orem on 400 north. I LOVE it…its so nice to have a place of our own.
Last Saturday we went to Lagoon (again) with my work! It was fun…we brought McKenna. We had a blast riding on the wicked and just playing at the park.

Then last night Elliot went to the store to get me some rice for Hawaiian Haystacks and on his way home a guy ran a red light and hit the back of the PT Cruiser. But it just messed up the back passenger side…sadly it didn’t total it.
We were going to go to WY this weekend but now Elliot says we can’t. I think we still can because the car is still drivable. So today during lunch I'm going to go get a light bulb and some red clear tape and see if I can make the brake light work…then we will still be able to go!! WISH ME LUCK!!!!

My Saturday

We had a crazy busy weekend. It started off with getting an apartment (YAY) on Friday. Elliot was SUPER excited about it, so we started moving in Friday also. Then Saturday we went to Lagoon with Mike’s (my step father in-law) work. Then we went to the Michael Kelsey concert! It was a SUPER fun day…but I'm still tired. Then Sunday we unpacked ALL day! Then we went to Mike & Tracie’s for dinner and to my parents because Alec was ordained an elder.

I don’t have much to say…(I have a headache because of some mold at work...) but I have a TON of pictures ENJOY!!!!!!

Elliot SCARED on the Sky Ride because it kept stopping. And Amelia and Me having fun killing time till the ride started moving again!

(The Sky Coaster operates by putting the participant in a full body harness (usually referred to as a flight suit), that supports the flyer (from one to three at a time), in a prone position. The harness is then connected to the flight support cables.

From a static point approximately 6 feet above the ground, the flyers are then pulled aloft by a launch cable to nearly the top of the launch tower. At this point the flyers are approximately 143 feet above the ground with the flight cables taut and the flight is ready to begin. Upon being given the signal, the flyers (Connor) pull the rip cord, releasing them from the launch cable, and they begin to rapidly swing towards the ground at speeds reaching up to 80 mph. The overall feeling is similar to that of swooping along the ground in a hang glider, or that of skydiving.

Tuesday Adventures (with LOTS of pictures)

Yesterday I decided that I wanted to learn how to skateboard. Because I go to the skate park with Elliot all the time and just watch him skate. And after watching him I thought, hey it can’t be that hard right! LoL boy was I wrong!!! I got the going straight down, I'm good at that. But then he asked me to turn! YEAH RIGHT!!! After shooting the stake board in who knows how many directions I fell. It hurt a bit, but it doesn’t hurt at all today so I'm just fine! But after that I decided I like taking pictures better! So here are some of the pictures I took of him!!! ENJOY!!!

After we skated we went home and showered (thank goodness!!!). Then met my parents, Haley and Graden (Alec showed up after us) at PF Changs for my moms birthday dinner! It was fun to have everyone there! Usually one of the husband, or Alec, have to work so we NEVER all get together!!!

Just an update

I know I have been a slacker when it comes to this. And my only excuse is I don’t have internet at home and I haven’t had a computer at work. So, now I’m sitting at work with absolutely nothing to do, so I decided to eat an apple and update my blog.

Elliot and I have been living in the house he grew up in. because his mom got married a few months before we did and bought a new house. So the one he grew up in was sitting empty so Tracie told us we could live there until it sells for $300 a month plus utilities. Well, she decided she didn’t want to pay two mortgages anymore so informed us our rent was going to go up to $820 a month. Which is not bad at all for a 5 bedroom house. But one we don’t need all that space and two we just didn’t want to pay that much for rent. So we are moving. There are two places we are looking at. One is on 600 north in Orem; it’s a two bedroom 1.5 bath condo. The other place is in Provo, it is a 1 bedroom duplex. Elliot likes this one more because it is $200 cheaper a month. But I'm not sold on it yet. So I guess we will just have to see what happens.

That’s about all that is happening right now. I am totally baby hungry, but I know I have to wait. Elliot tells me at least a year but I really want to be a stay at home mom so it may be a little longer. I also want to go to new England and see all my friends and show Elliot where I use to live and such. And we don’t want to take a baby to do that. So we will just see!!!!!

Camping

We went camping for the 4th of July. Well the day before because Elliot had to work. We went up Maple. It was so much fun! We went for a hike played card games. We also roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. Then the next morning Elliot got up and made me frenchtoast on our new pan. It was so much fun!!!!!
